Hi Reader, This weekend is a little laid back, with just a few Halloween events to enjoy with the kids. Main Events Witch's Night Out Thursday Cassaro Winery and Vineyard Admission: free Cassaro Winery is hosting an adult Halloween event, with a witch costume contest, DJ, a taco truck, candy and vendor booths. Bingo Friday Optimist Club Admission: free The Optimist Club in Waxahachie is hosting a family-friendly bingo night (therefore no strip bingo) with $10.00 cards and a $1.00 raffle. Concessions will also be available. Pumpkin Hoops Adult Craft Saturday Ennis Public Library Admission: free Crafters, create a set of personalized pumpkins to add to your fall decor. Supplies are limited so call the library at 972-875-5360 to sign up. Adults only - no children please. This craft will take place inside the Welcome Center in Downtown Ennis. Oktoberfest Saturday St. Joseph's Catholic Church Grounds Admission: free St. Joseph's Catholic Church is hosting an Oktoberfest fundraising event with the obligatories (food, drink, fun, more), bingo, other games of skill and chance, music and a raffle. Trunk-O-Palooza Saturday Railyard Park Admission: free Children are invited to trick-or-treat at Railyard Park. Participants will dole out candy from the trunks of cars, and kids can win the costume contest, dance in the dance party, and bounce in inflatables. Food trucks will also be on site. Ghost Hunt Fundraiser Saturday Rebekah Lodge Admission: $30.00 Become a Ghost Hunter on a paranormal investigation tour of the historic 1891 Lodge in Downtown Waxahachie using “professional” paranormal equipment. The event is designed mostly for adults, but participants 10 years old and older are welcome. All proceeds benefit Waxahachie Rebekah Lodge #381 Charity Fund.
Ferris Fall Festival Saturday Downtown Ferris Admission: free Enjoy family fun, including activities for all ages, food vendors, craft vendors, games, bounce houses, shopping and entertainment. Red Oak Fall Festival Saturday Pearson Park Admission: free The Red Oak Fall Festival is a fun event for the whole family, with games, rides, crafts, lots of candy, and some fall freebies from vendor booths. Friends of Sims Library Book Sale Friday Sims Library Admission: free Buy a Friends of Sims Library tote bag for $20.00, fill it with as many books for sale that you can fit. Or, buy hardbacks, games and puzzles for $1.00 each, and paperbacks for 50¢ each. Ongoing Events Every Day through October 31, 2024 Downtown Ennis Admission: free Ennis throws a month-long fall event that attracts visitors from all over the area, from Corsicana to Dallas, all drawn to the city's adventurous maze of hay and the largest pumpkin patch in at least 30 miles. Fridays and Saturdays Scarborough Fair Grounds Admission: starts at $42.00 As much of a local tradition in the fall as as Scarborough Fair is in the spring, Screams Halloween Park comprises a combination of five haunted house themes, food venues, games of skill, a monster museum and shopping. Note: This park is not suitable for young children.
