Forty thousand pounds of slushy ice will be trucked in for an eight-foot sledding hill that will create a rare experience in Texas. Expect food trucks, and the Ennis High School band will play Christmas music. Christmas Movie in the Park Friday Minnie McDowal Park Admission: free The City of Ennis is showing The Grinch outdoors in Minnie McDowal Park in Downtown Ennis, with an Christmas obstacle course (can't imagine), a mini train ride, and an inflatable slide. Mega Christmas Light Display Friday - Sunday Admission: free Mach Family Home Tour a huge three-acre Christmas light display at the private home of the Mach family. No pets are allowed. Elf Junior - The Musical Friday Saturday Admission: Students: $10.00 and adults: $15.00 The Chautauqua Auditorium at Getzendaner Park Presented by Ellis County Children's Theater, Elf Junior is the junior version of the musical Elf which tells the story of Buddy, a human raised at the North Pole who discovers he's not an elf and travels to New York City to find his father, bringing a joyful, childlike spirit to his cynical family while navigating the complexities of the modern world. Enjoy a lighthearted holiday musical presented by young performers, filled with catchy songs (a.k.a. earworms) and festive cheer that your children will enjoy.
Saturday Adoptions Saturday Waxahachie Animal Services The staff at the city's animal control center are opening up the shelter for your convenience this Saturday so that you have yet another chance to adopt -- not shop -- for a dog, cat, kitten or puppy who needs a home and is more than capable of returning the love that you give them and entertaining you for years, and maybe even helping you get motivated to get outside more. Pet Pictures with Santa Sunday Admission: unstated, but be prepared for a donation at least Pet Supplies Plus New Life Cat Rescue invites you to take along your friendly animal companion to Pet Supplies Plus for a picture with Santa and possibly take home a cat from the ones that are available for adoption and ready to entertain you for years. Continuing:DeSoto on Ice December 3 – December 21 December 22 – January 7 (Extended Holiday Hours) Holiday Hours Admission: $15 per ice skater, for one full hour, including skates. DeSoto Town Center Ice skate during the holiday season at the DeSoto On Ice Skating Rink. This event is a family-friendly way to get into the holiday spirit, even on unseasonably warm evenings. Skaters must be at least 4 years old to skate. Rental skate sizes start at baby size 8 and continue up to adult men size 13. Whether you are an expert skater or a first-timer, the rink promises fun for everyone.
